If you’re one of America’s 50 million chronic pain sufferers you may have tried painkillers or even surgery – only to realize you were merely managing symptoms, not targeting the root cause of your pain. That’s why the demand for natural, non-invasive, non-addictive pain therapy is soaring all over the country.
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy has been providing pain relief for over 3 decades on all continents. Now, more Americans are seeking it out to reverse their mobility restrictions, dependence on pain tablets, and reduced quality of life. In fact, the Current Review of Musculoskeletal Medicine estimates that the global PRP market is expected to grow to between 380 million and 4.5 billion (USD) over the next 5–10 years.
Next time you walk into your orthopedic surgeon’s waiting room don’t be surprised to see a PRP Therapy brochure. We’ve entered the orthobiologic era in which traditional treatments are merging with regenerative therapies to bring you the most effective, least invasive healing possible.
By extracting your own growth factor infused platelet-rich plasma, we can help to stimulate your body to regenerate cellular injury in your back, hands, knees, shoulders, hips, ankles, and feet. We can help you avoid the risks, costs and down time of surgery, as well as the side effects of over-the-counter pain meds.
To find out whether you’re a candidate for this natural, non-invasive treatment for pain, call our regenerative medicine team at (937) 588-6445.
Worldwide studies have demonstrated that PRP is safe and effective for intervertebral disc degeneration – a leading cause of chronic back pain.1 For over 3 decades, PRP therapy has also been resolving dysfunctions like:
Even traditionally trained doctors now recommend PRP for these conditions before suggesting surgery.
Your blood is composed of red cells, white cells, and cell fragments called platelets, which contain powerful proteins and hormones called growth factors, including, but not limited to:
Your PRP’s growth factor concentrations can be up to 10 times greater than those in the rest of your blood, spurring new blood vessel growth, which stimulates damaged cartilage and ligament cells to regenerate.
At your initial consultation be sure to discuss your medical history and medication use. Having HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, or cancer may preclude you from PRP Therapy.
Once we confirm you’re a good candidate for PRP, we’ll give you pre-procedure instructions. Depending on your medical history, you may be told to stop taking anticoagulants, steroids, and NSAIDs. You’ll need to drink plenty of water.
Once you’re completely relaxed and comfortable, your blood will be drawn (typically less than two ounces), then centrifuged for approximately five minutes to extract the regenerative platelets. Your skin will be disinfected.
Then we will strategically inject a precise amount of your PRP serum directly into your injured tissue. The procedure takes anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes. If you experience some soreness afterwards, you may apply cold compresses.
As with all medical procedures, your results will vary depending on your age, damage severity, genetics, general health, and follow up care.
You may require anywhere from 1 – 6 sessions, depending on your condition and injection point. Most patients begin feeling the effects of PRP therapy about 6-7 weeks after their last session. Pain relief, mobility and range-of-movement benefits may last up to 2 years.
End the soreness, throbbing, and limping. PRP therapy has already relieved chronic pain for hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide. Will you be next? Call us at (937) 588-6445 to schedule a consultation.
